Emery County School District
Policy: GBEB-Staff Conduct
Date Adopted: 20 April 1988
Current Review / Revision: 11 December 1997
The Emery County School District Board of Education reaffirms one of the oldest beliefs in education: "One of the best methods of instruction is that of setting a good example."
The Board expects that the entire staff will strive to set the kind of example for students that will serve them well in their own conduct and behavior and contribute toward a school atmosphere that is friendly, but has a degree of formality.
In dress, conduct, and interpersonal relationships, teachers and other staff members should recognize that they are being continuously observed by students. Their action and demeanor will be reflected in the conduct of the students.
It is of paramount importance that the members of the faculty set good examples in conduct, manners, dress, and grooming.
Employees are expected to wear appropriate dress for work and the activity in which they are engaged.
